Article: Sonic the Hedgehog Mini Waffle Maker

Thursday Jun 15, 2023
It’s been a bit since the last time I’ve used a waffle maker to make waffles, as most times I just make pancakes on the stove. But when I got the offer to review a waffle maker, and a Sonic the Hedgehog-themed one at that, I couldn’t pass it up.

If you’ve read my previous reviews of the live-action Transformers films (my review of the recent steelbook set can help out), you’ll note how the franchise started off strong with its exciting blend of action, drama, and humor, only to devolve into a lifeless product churned out as the next "summer blockbuster" event, with diminishing results. After the success of 2018's Bumblebee it seems Paramount Pictures has taken a step back and rethought how best to bring back the fun and sense of adventure of the earlier Michael Bay directed films, and with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, they mostly succeed.

Saying it's been quite the season for stellar game releases might be the understatement of the century. We've got a spicy new Zelda, a spicy new Street Fighter, so much spice you might think we're at Chipotle.

Thursday Jun 08, 2023
Britain in the 80s was, apparently, a pretty dark and dreary place, full of rain, unusual accents and questionably-constructed homes. That's what I'm taking away from Landlord's Super, and what it tells me is that Britain hasn't changed all that much.

Anyone remember board games? Yeah, those were a thing back in the day. They were kind of like video games, except all the stuff you used was physical.

Thursday Jun 08, 2023
Back when MOBAs were the flavor of the day - replaced, in time, by CCGs, Battle Royales, and farming sims - I found myself a little at odds with League of Legends' character designs. Specifically, they were fantastic.

I'm a fan of fighting games. That might be a little bit of an understatement, actually - I play a ton of them.

Remember Lemmings? Remember Chu Chu Rocket? Remember all those puzzle games in a post-Tetris (the game, not the movie) world all wanting to be the Next Big Thing? For every World of Goo there are countless Candy Crush imitators with little to differentiate between them. A good and proper puzzle game should have the right combination of mental stimulation, physical exertion, and vibe.

I’ll admit that I didn’t see Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse until it hit the home video market, but when I did, I was hooked by the amazing and always changing animation, the awesome characters and their voice actors, and the cool story it put together. As with most fans, I was on pins and needles for the inevitable sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is a nice follow-up that sometimes stumbles on its pacing issues and long runtime.

The best candidates for remakes are movies that are flawed to begin with. 1992’s White Men Can’t Jump is filled with fantastic basketball compositions, iconic wardrobes, a totally memorable Jeopardy! sequence, an even more memorable Rosie Perez, and lots and lots of charm.

While Forspoken left plenty of people divided on how they felt about it, most tend to enjoy the game like our own Cory Galliher that liked dashing and flinging spells all over the land of Athia. We’ve now come to the Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust DLC that not only answers a few questions from the main game in its short time, but took what was great from it and made it better.

I love my laptop, but it can be a pain using it on a flat surface as I’m always worried about if there’s enough air getting to the vents under it, can bother your wrists when typing for long periods of time, and adjusting the screen every so often for just the right viewing angle. Then there’s the usual case of most newer laptops to not have enough ports for your accessories, which is never a good thing when you’re using your laptop for work/business where having access to flash drives, external drives, and more are a necessity.

Being a child of the 80s, it goes without saying that I’m a huge Transformers fan. So it was a no brainer I had to request the new Transformers: Limited Edition 6-Movie Collection.

Let’s talk GPUs once again, this time focusing on NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4070, which recently launched. Specifically, let's talk about ZOTAC GAMING and their GeForce RTX 4070 TWIN EDGE OC, a midrange graphics card equipped with enough power and a bit more style amongst its peers.

Friday Jun 02, 2023
Minutes into Disney’s “live-action” remake of The Little Mermaid and it becomes impossible to not compare this overlong, overbaked version to the 1989 original animated classic that set off the Disney Animation Renaissance of the late 1980s after years of mediocrity and failures, restoring the Mouse House to its former glory before going on to dominate the entertainment world. Unlike most of Disney’s recent remakes, knowledge of John Musker and Ron Clements’s film feels like a necessary requirement, almost as if they're counting on your love of these songs and characters to help distract you from what a poor unfortunate imitation it is.
